Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a disease caused by microorganisms in the urinary tract. UTIs occur most often in women because the anatomy of the female perineum is shorter, the distance between the anus and vagina or urethral opening, allowing microorganisms to reach the urinary tract and colonize the urinary tract. The habit of holding urine, rarely changing underwear, not drinking enough water, and the habit of women washing the genital area after urinating from back to front are risk factors for UTIs. Knowledge about the dangers of UTIs and their prevention through personal hygiene will be useful for women, because the better a woman's knowledge of health, the better it will be related to increased well-being for herself.
