Abstract

Diarrhea is a condition when the frequency of bowel movements (BAB) increases to three times a day or more, accompanied by a liquid or runny stool texture. The spread of diarrhea usually occurs through infection with pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites. In addition to causing pain and death, diarrhea will also inhibit a child's growth and development because it can cause stunting. Continuous and ongoing education among the community so that cases of diarrhea in children can be suppressed through community service activities. This activity aims to increase the knowledge of cadre mothers and community members about the causes, prevention, and treatment of diarrhea in children and the importance of awareness of clean and healthy living behaviors. The community service method uses observational methods of the variables studied, and then field data analysis and problem interventions are carried out. The results of the Community Service Activities that have been carried out show that 7 Posyandu Melati XV Cadres trained in handling diarrhea in children and PHBS procedures and community knowledge regarding handling diarrhea in children increased from 71.92% to 99.23
